Minister inaugurates Eternal Church in Jhelum

LAHORE, Oct 22 (APP):Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora inaugurated the Eternal Church in Jhelum on Wednesday.
A large number of members of the Christian community, religious leaders, and representatives of the PML-N district organization attended the inaugural ceremony, said a media release issued here.
Upon arrival, the provincial minister was accorded a warm welcome.
Addressing the gathering, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora said that, under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, ending the sense of deprivation among minorities is among the top priorities of the Punjab government.
He said that all promises made to minority communities are being fulfilled practically. The government has launched the largest social safety net in Punjab’s history, under which 75,000 minority families are being issued “Minority Cards.” He added that the restoration and renovation of churches, temples, and gurdwaras are progressing rapidly, while the protection of minority worship places remains a top priority of the Chief Minister.
The minister added that opportunities are being provided to minority youth in civil services. He noted that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif personally participates in religious festivals of minority communities such as Easter, Baisakhi, and Diwali, reflecting her inclusive and minority-friendly vision.
Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora emphasized that the Chief Minister’s clear message is that minorities are equal citizens of Pakistan, and the Constitution guarantees equal rights to every citizen.
