LAHORE, Oct 22 (APP):Special Assistant to Chief Minister (SACM) Punjab on Price Control & Commodities Management Salma Butt visited the Sundas Foundation to review medical facilities for patients suffering from thalassemia, hemophilia, and other blood disorders, here on Wednesday.
During the visit, she met children under treatment, distributed gifts among them, and appreciated the dedicated services being provided by the foundation. Consultant Hematologist Dr. Saira Moeen briefed the SACM on the medical services, modern diagnostic techniques, advanced machinery, and blood management system being utilized at the center.
Dr. Saira Moeen informed that the Sundas Foundation provides free blood and treatment to thousands of patients every month, maintaining international standards of healthcare. She said the foundation is also working on new research projects for genetic screening and early diagnosis to help prevent blood diseases.
SACM Salma Butt praised the foundation’s contributions towards the welfare and treatment of children suffering from thalassemia and hemophilia, describing its services as exemplary. She said that more than 12,000 registered children are receiving free medical care, including blood transfusions and dental treatment, at the facility.
The SACM said the Punjab government is taking comprehensive steps to eradicate thalassemia and provide modern treatment facilities to affected children. She added that the government is also collaborating with private welfare institutions to improve healthcare services for patients suffering from blood-related diseases.
At the end of the visit, the management of Sundas Foundation presented an honorary shield to Ms. Salma Butt in recognition of her visit and support.
