SUKKUR, Oct 21 (APP):A seminar titled “Quit Smoking, Live Better: Making Pakistan Smoke Free” was held at Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) on Tuesday, bringing together health experts, academics and social activists to discuss the growing threat of smoking and narcotics.
Vice Chancellor (VC), Prof Dr Yousuf Khushk emphasized the physiological damages of smoking, including peripheral circulation damage, cancer, heart blockages, and memory loss. He urged students to make good decisions and promised to support efforts to discourage smoking.
Speakers highlighted the severe impact of smoking on the environment, economy, and national development, calling for Pakistan to follow the lead of countries moving towards being cigarette-free. They emphasized the need to discourage youth from smoking and using narcotics.
The seminar concluded with a call to action for the youth to reject smoking and narcotics, improve their academic performance, and build a healthier society.
