LARKANA, Oct 21 (APP): The District Health Officer (DHO) Larkana, Dr. Shoukat Abro, took serious notice of public complaints and along with Drug Inspector Sahib Khan Mirani, conducted operations in Naudero on Tuesday. During these operations, raids were carried out on various medical stores for selling expired, unregistered, and Indian medicines, lack of qualified staff, poor maintenance of the cold chain, and unhygienic conditions.
The medical stores that were raided include Maqeet Medical, Baba Medical, Ali Medical, Marvi Medical, Sarmad Medical, Mehdi Medical, New Sanwal Medical, Lal Medical, Al-Mansoor Medical, and Siraj Medical. These stores were sealed, their licenses were canceled, and fines were imposed, while several store owners closed their shops and fled.
On this occasion, District Health Officer (DHO) Larkana Dr. Shoukat Abro stated that the action was taken on the instructions of the Health Minister and the Secretary of Health. He further said that if any other medical store owner is found involved in illegal activities, strict action will be taken against them under the Drug Act — their licenses will be revoked, and FIRs will be registered against them.
