LAHORE, Oct 21 (APP):The Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra) organized a two-day cultural festival titled “Yaad-e-Salamat” to pay tribute to legendary classical vocalist Ustad Salamat Ali Khan for his remarkable contributions to South Asian music.
The event brought together Pakistan’s leading classical artists, including Shan Akhtar Ali Khan, Kashif and Shozib Ali Khan, Ustad Shafqat Ali Khan, Sultan and Salman Waris, and instrumentalists Saleem Khan (sitar), Hanif Khan (flute), and Rashid Ali Khan (saxophone), who captivated audiences with their performances rooted in the Patiala Gharana tradition.
Chairman Alhamra, Razi Ahmed, praised the event’s essence, stating, “Alhamra’s stage has always celebrated the voices that define Pakistan’s artistic excellence. Honoring Ustad Salamat Ali Khan is to honor the very roots of our cultural heritage.”
