FAISALABAD, Oct 21 (APP):Health experts have warned that breast cancer is rising in the country, calling for immediate preventive measures to protect current and future generations.
They voiced these concerns during a breast cancer awareness walk organized by PINUM Cancer Hospital under the auspices of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), aimed at promoting early diagnosis and prevention of the disease.
The walk was led by Dr Babar Imran, Director of PINUM Hospital, and saw active participation from doctors, medical professionals, and hospital staff. Participants expressed solidarity with breast cancer patients and sought to raise public awareness about preventive healthcare.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Babar Imran said breast cancer is spreading faster than any other disease affecting women in Pakistan. “One in every ten women in Pakistan is at risk of developing breast cancer in her lifetime. This is a growing public health challenge that needs urgent attention,” he said.
