SARGODHA, Oct 20 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Capt (R) Muhammad Waseem has said that the ongoing preventive activities in the field should be made more effective to stop the spread of dengue.
He directed that all the departments concerned, especially Health, Municipal Corporation and WASA teams, should pay full attention to indoor and outdoor surveillance so that any possibility of breeding of dengue larvae can be eliminated.
He said this while presiding over a meeting of the District Emergency Response Committee. The meeting was attended by ADCG Rana Muhammad Abubakar, CEO Health Authority Dr. Sara Safdar, MC, WASA, Education and representatives of other concerned departments.
The Deputy Commissioner said that regular checking of tire shops, junkyards, cemeteries, nurseries and other sensitive places should be continued and immediate chemical treatment should be done wherever larvae are found. He also appealed to the citizens not to allow water to accumulate in their homes and cooperate with the district administration in dengue prevention measures.
During the meeting, officers of the Health department and other institutions gave a briefing on the preventive measures taken so far and the surveillance report.
