ATTOCK, Oct 20 (APP): The Hindu community of Attock celebrated the festival of lights, Diwali, with full religious fervor and enthusiasm on Monday.
To mark the auspicious occasion, the community lit traditional earthen lamps commemorating the return of Lord Rama. A special gathering was held at the Valmiki Temple Attock cantt, the only Hindu temple in the city, where sermons highlighting love, peace, and interfaith harmony were delivered. Prayers were also offered for the prosperity and brotherhood of Pakistan.
Sweets and meals were distributed among participants to share the festive spirit. Speaking to media representatives, Pandit Sarwan Kumar and Roop Lal said the festival is observed to honor the sacrifices of Shree Ram Chandar Jee, who spent 14 years in exile and preached the message of righteousness and devotion.
They added that in Pakistan, the Hindu community enjoys complete religious freedom and equal rights like all other citizens.
