PESHAWAR, Oct 20 (APP): The Right to Public Services (RTS) Commission Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday organized a one-day consultative session, aimed at enhancing mass awareness of citizens’ rights, evaluating the effectiveness of the Commission’s ongoing activities and exploring avenues for digital integration with other departments and service providers.
The session was chaired by Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Shahzada, with Commissioner Zakir Hussain Afridi also in attendance.
The gathering brought together District Monitoring Officers (DMOs), headquarter staff, RTS Ambassadors, media representatives and key stakeholders committed to strengthening public service delivery across the province.
In his opening remarks, Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Shahzada emphasized the Commission’s role in promoting accountability, transparency, and timely access to services.
“The right to public services is fundamental and we are committed to ensuring that every citizen is aware of their rights and receives efficient services without delay,” he stated.
Participants provided valuable feedback on improving public engagement, streamlining inter-departmental coordination and leveraging digital tools to make service delivery more transparent and responsive.
Discussions also focused on strengthening the RTS Commission’s outreach strategies and enhancing collaboration with media and civil society.
Commissioner Zakir Hussain Afridi highlighted the importance of feedback-driven reform. “By listening to our field staff, RTS ambassadors, and the public, we can tailor our approach to better meet the needs of citizens and build a more service-oriented governance model,” he said.
The consultative session is part of the Commission’s broader efforts to reinforce good governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by institutionalizing citizens’ rights and making government services more accessible and accountable.
