COMSATS University Abbottabad awards 1,283 degrees & 92 medals at convocation ceremony

ABBOTTABAD, Oct 20 (APP):COMSATS University Abbottabad on Monday awarded 1,283 students MS and BS degrees, 32 students received PhD degrees, while 92 students were honoured with gold, silver, and bronze medals for their outstanding performance during the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 sessions.
The convocation ceremony was held at the COMSATS University Abbottabad Campus, where 901 undergraduate, 350 graduate, and 31 PhD students were conferred degrees.
Rector COMSATS University Islamabad, Professor Dr. Sajid Qamar, attended the event as the chief guest, while Director COMSATS University Abbottabad, Professor Dr. Shahid Khattak, directors of other campuses, members of the Senate, Syndicate, and Academic Council, senior faculty members, and a large number of parents and dignitaries were also present.
Addressing the convocation, Dr. Sajid Qamar congratulated the graduating students and commended the efforts of the faculty and management for their dedication, which has earned global recognition for Pakistan. He described the convocation as a major milestone in the students’ lives and urged them to contribute to the country’s progress through their knowledge and skills.
He emphasized that education and scientific research are key to addressing the challenges of the 21st century and to producing a skilled workforce for national development. He praised Professor Dr. Shahid Khattak for his leadership and for providing students with high-quality education and professional training.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Dr. Shahid Khattak said that COMSATS University has been playing a vital role in promoting quality education and research for over two decades. He noted that the institution’s graduates have been contributing to national and international development through their professional excellence.
Dr. Khattak reaffirmed the university’s commitment to aligning its educational and research programs with national priorities and societal needs, with the support of the Government of Pakistan and other relevant bodies.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of degrees and medals among the graduates, marking a memorable day of pride and celebration for the students, faculty, and their families.
