KHANEWAL, Oct 20 (APP):The Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) has intensified its crackdown against illegal land occupation, retrieving government land worth Rs917.2 million in a recent operation in Jahanian.
Following directives from Deputy Commissioner Dr. Salma Suleman, the PERA Force carried out indiscriminate enforcement operations across the district. As a result, 17.3 kanals of illegally occupied government land were recovered.
The operation, led by Sub-Divisional Enforcement Officer Tahir Khichi, involved the demolition of unauthorized structures using heavy machinery. The retrieved land has now been restored to state ownership, officials confirmed.
Simultaneously, the anti-encroachment campaign continued in Khanewal city, where PERA teams cleared Ayub Road, Akbar Bazaar, Jannat Road, and the stretch from Old Sabzi Mandi to Jamia Abaiata Road. With the support of the Municipal Committee, obstructions and goods encroaching on public pathways were also removed to ensure free movement for pedestrians and vehicles.
Officials stated that the operation reflects the administration’s zero-tolerance policy toward land encroachment and its commitment to protecting public assets.
