MULTAN, Oct 20 (APP): Commissioner Multan Division Amir Kareem Khan conducted visits to several parks across the city on Monday, identifying multiple deficiencies and directing the relevant departments to carry out urgent repairs, renovations, and plantation efforts to improve the overall condition and appeal of public parks.
During his inspection of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi Park and Noori Masjid Park in Mumtazabad, the commissioner expressed concern over inadequate lighting arrangements. He also noted that walking tracks, swings, green belts, toilets, benches, and equipment in the open gym were in poor condition and required immediate attention.
Commissioner Khan instructed officials to repair broken pathway tiles at the entrance, ensure regular pruning of plants, and improve the maintenance of green belts. He also advised local residents to avoid hanging washed clothes on park fences to help preserve the park’s aesthetics.
At Noori Masjid Park, he directed authorities to construct a toilet facility, level uneven ground, and improve grass coverage. Emphasizing swift action, he stated that all highlighted deficiencies must be addressed promptly, with visible improvements made in the shortest possible time.
Responding to residents’ complaints about stray dogs in the parks, the commissioner instructed the Metropolitan Corporation to take immediate steps to resolve the issue.
Commissioner Khan stressed that public parks are vital recreational spaces and must not suffer from neglect or administrative complacency. He reiterated the need for continuous maintenance to provide citizens with a clean, safe, and enjoyable environment.
He was accompanied by Director General PHA Kareem Bakhsh and other senior officials during the visits.
