ISLAMABAD, Oct 20 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police conducted a major operation in Bari Imam and apprehended 17 Afghan nationals residing illegally in the country.
An official told APP on Monday that the operation was carried out by Secretariat Police under the supervision of Superintendent of Police (SP) City, following reports of illegal stay. The suspects attempted resistance during the raid, but police contingents swiftly encircled the area and overpowered all individuals in a professional manner.
According to the official, the arrested Afghan nationals have been shifted to lock-ups, and legal proceedings are underway. They will be deported after completion of due process.
Police authorities reiterated that operations against foreigners living illegally in Islamabad will continue without discrimination to ensure the capital’s safety and rule of law.
