SARGODHA, Oct 20 (APP):Commissioner Jahanzeb Awan on Monday visited Vehicle Inspection and Certification Stations (VICs) to review the vehicle fitness checking process in light of smog issue.
According to an official spokesperson, the commissioner closely inspected the procedures at the stations and directed officials to intensify vehicle inspections to help curb smog levels.
He emphasized that all vehicles must undergo mandatory fitness checks before being allowed on the roads, as a crucial step to reduce harmful emissions and mitigate environmental pollution.
Commissioner Awan strictly instructed that no leniency be shown toward vehicles failing to meet fitness standards, and immediate action should be taken against violators.
The secretary of the Regional Transport Authority briefed the commissioner on the modernization of the vehicle fitness process, aimed at improving emission control and reducing environmental impact.
