MUZAFFARGARH, Oct 19 (APP): Sadr Police claimed on Sunday to have arrested a proclaimed offender after a shootout near Samandari Phatak.
The police headed by SHO Malik Nadeem Haider were on patrol when they spotted suspects.
Seeing the police, the outlaws opened indiscriminate fire, prompting police to retaliate in self-defense.
Following the gunfire, SHO City Malik Shakeel Ahmed and SDPO Kot Addu Abdul Ghaffar Khan also reached the spot with additional police force and encircled the area.
The suspects managed to flee under the cover of darkness, while one of the suspects identified as Sikandar Abbas aka Samundar Khan was found injured by the firing of his own accomplices.
The police shifted the injured to THQ Hospital Kot Addu for medical treatment.
The arrested accused was wanted by police in 11 serious criminal cases, including robbery, theft, illegal arms and narcotics cases.
Further investigation was underway.
