JICA, District Women Protection Committee vow stronger coordination

FAISALABAD, Oct 18 (APP):The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and District Women Protection Committee Faisalabad have vowed to strengthen the institutional framework for women’s safety, empowerment and rehabilitation.
Presiding over a joint meeting at Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Madam Zainab Jahandad urged the need to enhancing interdepartmental coordination to make the women protection system more effective and responsive.
She appreciated JICA’s cooperation and highlighted that Faisalabad administration is fully committed to implement a comprehensive framework for women’s safety and empowerment.
She said that collaborative initiatives with organizations like JICA would further strengthen local capacities and create an environment where women can live and work with dignity and confidence.
During meeting, JICA representatives reaffirmed their commitment to promote institutional collaboration for protecting women’s rights and improving mechanisms for their empowerment and rehabilitation.
They emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among government departments and development partners to ensure timely support and effective response to women’s protection cases.
District Women Protection Officer Kanwal Shahzadi along with representatives from District Health Authority, Local Government and Community Development Department, District Police, Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Department and District Public Prosecutor’s Office also attended the meeting.
