PESHAWAR, Oct 18 (APP): Central Chairman of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP), Aftab Khan Sherpao, on Saturday declared that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was mired in a deep quagmire of problems, asserting that the PTI leadership was wasting all its energies on release of Imran Khan rather than governing.
He expressed these views while addressing the 13th Foundation Day ceremony of QWP held here at Watan Kor.
Sherpao stated that provincial government has no solid plan to bring the province out of its severe financial and security crises. He pointed to the recent chaotic removal of a sitting Chief Minister and the ensuing constitutional crisis as definitive proof that province was being run by “remote control” from prison, which has paralyzed all administrative functions.
“The slogan of change was nothing but a hollow deception to gain power,” Sherpao stated. He argued that provincial economy was dangerously unstable while rampant mismanagement, corruption, and nepotism have become the norm.
Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao lambasted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for its “criminal indifference” towards problems of people. He said its leaders, from newly-installed Chief Minister to the cabinet, are focused solely on social media campaigns and protests for their leader’s release, rather than protecting provincial rights.
“This obsession has left province completely rudderless,” he declared. “They are so consumed by their internal party drama and loyalty tests that they have utterly neglected worsening law and order situation, leaving citizens at mercy of extortionists and militants.”
He further criticized government’s negligence in failing to secure Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s financial dues from federal government, stating their confrontational policies have pushed province towards bankruptcy, stalling development and risking the salaries of government employees.
Provincial Chairman Sikandar Khan Sherpao, along with central and provincial leadership, elders, workers, and the public in large numbers, participated in the event.
