Polio eradication campaign launched in North Waziristan

PESHAWAR, Oct 17 (APP):Deputy Commissioner North Waziristan, Muhammad Yousaf Kareem, formally inaugurated the National Polio Eradication Campaign for October 2025 in the district by administering polio drops to children.

On the occasion, the DC emphasized that eliminating polio is a shared national responsibility, urging parents to ensure their children receive polio vaccination drops to protect them from lifelong disability.

Following the launch, a meeting of the District Polio Eradication Committee (DPEC) was held under the chairmanship of the DC.

The meeting reviewed in detail the targets, preparations, and strategy for the ongoing campaign.

Among those present were District Police Officer Waqar Ahmad, District Health Officer Dr. Miraj Wazir, NSTOP Officer Muhammad Usman, and other DEOC members.

The DC directed all concerned departments to extend maximum facilitation to polio teams, adding that no negligence or laxity would be tolerated during the campaign.

He appealed to parents once again to administer the anti-polio drops to their children, reminding them that just a few drops can save their children from lifelong disability.
