MIRPUR, Oct 16 (APP):Azad Jammu Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has strongly rejected the recent remarks made by the Foreign Minister of Afghanistan in New Delhi, in which he appeared to endorse India’s position on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
In a statement issued in the state metropolis on Thursday, the prime minister, while referring to the UNSC resolutions regarding Kashmir, made it clear that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized dispute awaiting final settlement. He said that India continues to propagate a false narrative regarding the situation in Jammu and Kashmir; however, the international community has not accepted New Delhi’s baseless claims.
Prime Minister Haq stated that the Afghan Foreign Minister’s comments reflect a lack of understanding of historical facts and ground realities. He emphasized that India’s military occupation of Jammu and Kashmir is unlawful and stands rejected by the Kashmiri people, who continue their peaceful struggle for freedom and self-determination.
He further recalled that prior to the creation of Pakistan, the people of Jammu and Kashmir had expressed their collective will to align their fate with Pakistan by adopting the historic Accession to Pakistan Resolution on 19th July in 1947, the Kashmiri people, he said, have since been rendering unparalleled sacrifices for the realization of this objective.
AJK Prime Minister said that the United Nations Security Council resolutions explicitly acknowledge the Kashmiri people’s fundamental right to decide their political future through a free and impartial plebiscite.
