ISLAMABAD, Oct 16 (APP):The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration sealed a petrol pump in Sector I-8 for stopping sales and not applying the recent fuel price reduction.
Following the federal government’s decision to reduce petroleum product prices, Islamabad’s district administration took swift action against fuel stations ignoring the official notification, said the spokesman of ICT administration here.
During an inspection drive, a petrol pump located in Sector I-8 was found violating the directive by refusing to sell fuel and not updating the rates as per the new prices. The administration sealed the pump on the spot to ensure enforcement of the government’s price cut.
Officials said the inspection teams are actively monitoring fuel stations across the city to prevent artificial shortages or overpricing. They added that strict action would be taken against any station found to be involved in stopping sales or overcharging the public.
The administration appealed to citizens to report any pump not selling fuel or charging above the notified rates. Complaints can be made through the district administration’s helpline or official social media channels.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining transparency in fuel distribution and ensuring that the benefit of price reduction reaches the public without delay.
