LAHORE, Oct 15 (APP): An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday acquitted an accused in a case pertaining to fundraising and distribution of hate material.
ATC Judge Irfan Haider announced the verdict, declaring that the prosecution failed to establish charges against the accused, Bakht Jamal.
According to the case record, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Lahore had filed a challan against Bakht Jamal in 2024, accusing him of distributing hate literature and collecting donations for a proscribed organization.
During the proceedings, the defence counsel argued that the allegations were fabricated and that the accused had no connection with any banned outfit.
After completion of the trial, the court accepted the defence stance and ordered the acquittal of Bakht Jamal. The accused appeared before the court during the hearing.
