ISLAMABAD, Oct 15 (APP):A book launch ceremony for “Pakistan’s Search for Peace with Afghanistan: Statecraft, Policy and Strategy” by Dr. Zahid Latif was held at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) on Wednesday.
Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif attended the ceremony as the chief guest and lauded Dr. Zahid Latif’s scholarly contribution toward understanding Pakistan’s regional policy and security challenges.
Addressing the gathering, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif expressed deep concern over the recent unprovoked aggression by Afghan forces along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, emphasized that such acts threaten regional peace and stability. He lauded the Pakistan Armed Forces for their strong and effective response to defend the nation’s sovereignty.
The minister also paid tribute to the Pakistan Army for the successful operation Bunyan um Marsoos against Indian aggression, called it “a moment of national pride and military excellence.”
A large number of faculty members, students, scholars, and dignitaries attended the ceremony.
At the conclusion, Dr. Zahid Latif presented a copy of his book and a shield to Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, followed by a group photograph with participants.
