LAHORE, Oct 15 (APP):On the recommendation of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the deadline for filing income tax returns till October 31, 2025.
LCCI President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol, Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh, and Vice President Khurram Lodhi here Wednesday expressed their gratitude to the Government of Pakistan and the FBR for accepting the Chamber’s suggestion and providing timely relief to business community.
Saigol said that Lahore Chamber had continuously emphasized the difficulties being faced by traders and industrialists due to the prevailing national situation, border tensions, floods, and the complexities of new tax reforms introduced in the federal budget. He said that in these challenging circumstances, it had become difficult for taxpayers to file their returns on time, and the Chamber had requested an extension to facilitate them.
He added that this decision will not only ease the burden on the business community but also encourage a greater number of taxpayers to file their returns, thereby helping to widen the tax base and strengthen the national economy.
Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh and Vice President Khurram Lodhi appreciated the positive response of the Government and FBR, saying that this step reflects their understanding of the business community’s genuine concerns. They said that such cooperation will build trust between the business community and the authorities and promote a culture of voluntary tax compliance.
The LCCI office-bearers reiterated their commitment to continue serving as a bridge between the business community and policymakers to promote ease of doing business and sustainable economic growth in the country.
