PM directs transparency, timely completion of Jinnah Medical Complex

ISLAMABAD, Oct 14 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday directed the relevant authorities to ensure complete transparency at all stages of the construction of the Jinnah Medical Complex (JMC). He also emphasized strict adherence to the established timelines for the hospital’s development.
He issued these directives while chairing a review meeting on the Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Centre.
The prime minister said that the Jinnah Medical Complex would be a state-of-the-art facility, providing high-quality medical treatment to the public.
During the meeting, the prime minister was briefed on the progress of the project. It was informed that the design consultant for the complex had been selected, while the contract process with the Pakistan Engineering Council was currently underway.
The meeting was also informed that advertisements for the selection of experts for third-party validation would be issued soon. Additionally, the federal cabinet has already approved the appointment of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the complex.
Furthermore, the officials informed the prime minister that the geotechnical study of the project had been completed, while hydrology and seismic studies were expected to be finalized by next month.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif resumed his official duties shortly after returning from Egypt, where he had participated in the Gaza Peace Summit.
During the meeting, the prime minister briefed participants on the outcomes of his Egypt visit. The participants lauded the prime minister’s diplomatic efforts, stating that Pakistan had gained a significant position during the summit. They acknowledged that PM Shehbaz’s personal efforts contributed to enhancing Pakistan’s diplomatic standing on the global stage.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister of State for National Health Services Mukhtar Ahmed Bharath, and other senior officials.
