RAWALPINDI, Oct 14 (APP):The Rawat Police have booked Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Hafiz Saad Hussain Rizvi, 20 other leaders and 35 unidentified persons under the Anti-Terrorism Act and other serious charges for allegedly attacking police and inciting unrest.
According to a spokesman for the Rawalpindi Police on Tuesday, the accused blocked a public road in violation of a ban and opened direct fire on the police, spreading fear and panic in the area.
He said the case also included sections related to attempt to murder, dacoity and public incitement.
The report mentioned that a suspect, Qari Abrar, fired shots that hit a policeman, who escaped unhurt due to his bulletproof jacket, while Qari Danish and others allegedly assaulted another officer and snatched tear-gas shells from him.
The police also recovered nail-studded batons, petrol bombs, TLP flags and empty bullet casings from the spot. The FIR was lodged on the complaint of Sub-Inspector Najeebullah.
