PSX continues bearish trend, loses 4,654.77 points

ISLAMABAD, Oct 13 (APP): The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued its bearish momentum on Monday, as the benchmark KSE-100 index shed 4,654.77 points, showing a negative change of 2.85 percent, closing at 158,443.42 points against 163,098.19 points on the previous trading day.
A total of 1,365,703,374 shares were traded during the day compared to 1,401,248,178 shares in the previous session, while the share value stood at Rs62.465 billion against Rs47.794 billion previously.
As many as 482 companies transacted their shares in the stock market; of these, 74 recorded gains, 375 sustained
losses, and 33 remained unchanged.
The three top-trading companies were K-Electric Limited with 197,267,193 shares at Rs6.85 per share, Bank of Punjab with 97,205,745 shares at Rs31.78 per share, and WorldCall Telecom with 75,239,120 shares at Rs1.67 per share.
Supernet Technologies Limited recorded the maximum increase of Rs179.93 per share, closing at Rs2,028.92, followed by Gillette Pakistan Limited, which rose by Rs41.33 to close at Rs454.56.
On the other hand, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited witnessed a maximum decrease of Rs491.47 per share, closing at Rs29,358.53, followed by Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited, which declined by Rs352.05 to close at Rs9,526.94.
In the futures market, a total of 351 companies transacted shares, of which 19 recorded gains, 330 sustained losses, and 2 remained unchanged.
