KARACHI, Oct 13 (APP):The University of Karachi and Vertex HSE private limited agreed to initiate a partnership to enhance road safety, transport safety assessment, compliance, and risk mitigation measures across the campus.
This collaboration aims to make the university’s internal transport system safer, more efficient, and aligned with international standards. The agreement was formalized on Monday between the University of Karachi and Vertex HSE Private Limited.
Under this partnership, a detailed road safety and management plan will be developed, including defensive driving courses and other training programs for transport staff, formulation of standard operating procedures for campus traffic management, effective implementation of traffic signage systems, and the establishment of ongoing safety awareness initiatives and monitoring systems.
These efforts are geared toward transforming the university’s internal transport infrastructure into a secure and globally compliant system.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Executive Officer of Vertex HSE, Syed Hassan Habib shared that the company has offered to conduct the safety assessment free of charge under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. “This gesture reflects our deep commitment to public safety and social welfare,” he said.
As part of this initiative, both institutions will jointly develop an integrated framework to ensure continuous improvement, compliance, and monitoring in transport safety. This framework will play a pivotal role in aligning the University of Karachi’s transport system with national and international road safety standards.
Following the assessment, Vertex HSE’s technical experts will provide practical and sustainable solutions to mitigate risk factors and enhance overall transport safety within the campus. This collaboration marks a forward-thinking and socially responsible approach toward creating a safer, more secure environment for students, faculty, and staff at the University of Karachi.
