MANSEHRA, Oct 13 (APP): A four-day anti-polio campaign has commenced across the district under tight security arrangements, with 1,993 police officers and personnel deployed to protect vaccination teams and ensure the peaceful execution of the drive.
District Police Officer (DPO) Shafiullah Gandapur said that the protection of polio teams is the top priority of the police, adding that the strictest security measures have been implemented for the campaign’s smooth and safe operation.
Before deployment, all DSPs and SHOs, under the supervision of SPs, conducted detailed briefing sessions for police personnel in their respective stations and circles as directed by the DPO Mansehra.
According to details, heavy police contingents have been deployed throughout the district, while checkpoints have been set up at all entry and exit points to ensure effective monitoring and law enforcement.
DPO Shafiullah Gandapur instructed all SPs, DSPs, and SHOs to personally oversee the polio teams, emphasizing that while ensuring the safety of vaccination staff, police officers and personnel must also use bulletproof jackets and helmets for their own protection.
