Punjab Food dept detects digital fraud

LAHORE, Oct 13 (APP):The Punjab Food department has exposed a digital fraud for the first time in the history.
Price Control department spokesman said here on Monday that a gang working through web portal had been exposed within 48 hours. The team took action under the supervision of Food DG Amjad Hafeez.
The spokesman said that multiple flour mills were involved in digital forgery while show-cause notices had been issued.
He said that an attempt was made to smuggle thousands of maunds of wheat and flour through fake e-permit.
Notices had been issued to different flour mills including Al-Mustaqeem and Shah Taj, he said and added that forgery and deception in official documents would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He said that noose was being tightened against transporters involved in smuggling through
fake e-permits.
It is pertinent to mention here that drivers have been arrested besides registering of cases and seizing 11 vehicles.
