RAWALPINDI, Oct 13 (APP):The Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) successfully carried out a large-scale cleanliness operation immediately after the city routes reopened following a three-day closure.
According to the RWMC spokesman, over 3,000 tons of waste were lifted during the special operation restoring the city’s zero-waste status.
He informed that more than 3,500 devoted workers, working in double shifts, performed their duties with utmost dedication and commitment to restore cleanliness across the city.
Due to the road closures from Friday to Sunday, the company faced major challenges in collecting and transporting waste to transfer stations, he said and added that, however, RWMC’s resilient workforce continued to perform their duties on foot, using handcarts to collect and move waste to the transfer stations despite the difficulties.
Citizens praised RWMC’s timely intervention, effective strategy, and professional efficiency, acknowledging that the company once again demonstrated its capability to meet every challenge in maintaining public hygiene and urban management.
