PESHAWAR, Oct 13 (APP):Following the directives of the Director General Health Services, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the District Health Team Peshawar, in collaboration with Rotary International, organized a free medical camp at UC Sufaid Dehri here to address the growing cases of vector-borne diseases especially chikungunya spread.
According to an official release, over 650 patients benefited from medical consultations provided by dedicated male and female teams.
Symptomatic patients were screened and tested, while paramedical staff administered OPV vaccinations to eligible children.
The camp was supervised by Dr. Atif, DDHO Peshawar), Dr. Anthony, Public Health Coordinator Peshawar, and Dr. Mussawir, Deputy Director Public Health, DGHS.
In addition to clinical services, the District Entomologist and IDSRS Focal Person conducted awareness sessions highlighting the importance of community participation in vector control during the high-risk season.
Field teams also inspected high-burden households, identified mosquito larvae, and guided residents on safe water storage and larval destruction methods.
This initiative underscores the Health Department’s commitment to protecting public health through timely interventions and community engagement.
