KARACHI, Oct 12 (APP): The Government of Sindh has imposed a complete ban on all kinds of protests, demonstrations, sit-ins, rallies, and assemblies of more than five persons throughout the province for a period of one month to maintain law and order situation and prevent miscreants from assembly in a manner prejudicial to public safety.
According to a Home department’s order, the IGP Sindh had communicated request of various police ranges and zones regarding prevailing law and order situation and requested to impose a complete ban under section 144 Cr.P.C on all kinds of protests, demonstrations, sit-ins, rallies, and assemblies of more than five persons in the province for a period of one month.
The Sindh Government in exercise of the powers conferred under section 144 (6) Cr.P.C 1989, has imposed the ban.
The Station House Officers (SHOs) of Police Stations concerned had been authorized to register the complaints under section 188 PPC in writing for the violation of section 144 Cr.P.C against the violators of the order.
