Imposition of Rs.10.98 mln fine, 4502 FIRs registered against dengue violators

RAWALPINDI, Oct 10 (APP):The District Health Authority (DHA) Rawalpindi has collected fines of Rs. 10.98 million in its efforts of dengue SOPs compliance.
The authorities have taken strict punitive actions against dengue SOPs violations, including 4,502 FIRs filed, 1,859 properties sealed, and issuance of 3,518 challans to a number of domestic and commercial premises during the current year.
The authority has intensified efforts to curb the spread of dengue. In the last 24 hours, 19 new confirmed cases were detected.
The latest data released in this regard shows 908 confirmed cases across the district, whereas 47 patients are currently admitted to hospitals.
The hospitals have screened a total of 13,555 patients for dengue symptoms.
Vector control teams have inspected over 5.65 million houses and 1.55 million potential breeding spots, uncovering 178,871 positive houses and 24,052 positive spots, leading to the destruction of 202,923 larvae.
