FAISALABAD, Oct 09 (APP):Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director (MD) Sohail Qadir Cheema has directed WASA officials for expansion of Bhaiwala sewerage line to resolve long-standing drainage problems in 10 adjoining localities.
During visit to various parts of Bhaiwala, he instructed the completion of mechanical desilting of main sewer line to ensure smooth sewage flow and lasting relief for the residents.
He inspected the ongoing work and ordered that extended sewer line near Bhaiwala Phatak should be linked with Gatti Disposal Station.
He explained that expansion would directly benefit the residents of Imdad Town, Ali Park, Ali Afghan Abad, Ali Irfan Abad, Yousaf Abad, Sakhi Sarwar Abad, Shafi Noor Colony, Shams Abad, Shakeel Park and Rehman Town.
Connection of these areas with Gatti Disposal Station would also reduce the load on Gulistan Disposal Station, he added.
He also directed for immediate initiation of mechanical desilting of main sewer line along Bhaiwala Road and said that the process would significantly improve sewage flow and provide relief to the surrounding neighborhoods.
He said that WASA is fully committed to provide high-quality sanitation and drainage facilities to the citizens under a comprehensive and effective planning strategy.
He said that all sewerage pipelines are being redesigned as part of ongoing development schemes for permanently resolving drainage issues of the city.
He said that timely public cooperation was imperative to sustain WASA’s operations. He urged the residents to pay their monthly bills and outstanding dues promptly.
“Increase in revenue recovery will strengthen WASA’s financial position and enable it to serve citizens more efficiently”, he added.
