LAHORE, Oct 9 (APP):Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Director General Irfan Ali Kathia said on Thursday that flood rehabilitation survey had been completed by 27 percent, while details of 222,000 victims had so far been collected.
He expressed these remarks while chairing a detailed briefing on the post-flood
rehabilitation survey, that was attended by officers from PITB, Bank of Punjab,
Urban Unit, PELRA, Irrigation Department and other departments participated.
In the meeting, DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia gave a detailed briefing on the post-flood
rehabilitation survey. Commissioners and deputy commissioners of 27 districts
participated in the meeting through video link.
According to DG PDMA, on the instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the flood
rehabilitation survey had been completed by 27 percent. Details of 222,000 victims
had been collected in the flood assessment survey, while more than 7200 livestock,
56728 houses and 600,000 affected lands had been identified.
Relief Commissioner Punjab Nabil Javed also reviewed the establishment of campsites
and directed all relevant institutions to take timely measures. The process of verifying
deaths during the flood had also been completed.
All Deputy Commissioners were directed to provide assistance to the families
of those who died during the floods so that complete relief and rehabilitation
of the victims could be ensured.
