HYDERABAD, Oct 09 (APP):The annual Englican Sports Gala continued for the second consecutive day at the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, attracting vibrant participation and sporting enthusiasm among students and faculty alike.
Organized by the Directorate of Sports, University of Sindh, a series of exciting matches were played in cricket, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, chess, tug of war, athletics and other competitive games at the PCB cricket ground and Hyder Bux Jatoi pavilion.
Over 200 male and female students of the Institute of English Language and Literature (IELL) actively took part in the events and demonstrated exceptional athletic skills, team spirit and sportsmanship.
On the occasion, Director of the Institute of English Language and Literature Professor Dr. Abdul Fatah Soomro along with Director Sports Ajved Ahmed Bhatti, Dr. Tarique Hassan Umrani and several other faculty members witnessed the contests and encouraged the participants.
Talking to the media, Dr. Abdul Fatah Soomro said that sports were an essential part of academic life, fostering leadership, cooperation and confidence among students. He emphasized that such events not only promoted physical well-being but also strengthened the sense of unity and camaraderie among young scholars.
He appreciated the Directorate of Sports for its collaboration and the students for their energetic participation.
The three-day gala marked by thrilling performances and enthusiastic crowd support will culminate on Friday (tomorrow) with the final matches and a prize distribution ceremony to honor the winning teams and outstanding players.
