LAHORE, Oct 09 (APP):Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has announced that the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology Lahore will be opened to the public very soon.
He made the announcement during his visit to the under-construction Jinnah Institute of Cardiology here on Thursday, where he reviewed the ongoing progress in detail.
Officials and contractors from the Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab (IDAP) briefed the minister about the pace of work.
Khawaja Salman Rafique said the Punjab government was constructing a state-of-the-art cardiac institute in Lahore at an estimated cost of Rs 9 billion.
“The Jinnah Institute of Cardiology will provide international standard medical facilities to patients, and work is being carried out at full speed to ensure timely completion,” he said.
The minister expressed the hope that thousands of heart patients across Punjab would benefit from the new hospital, which would offer advanced treatment, modern operation theaters, the services of skilled surgeons, and free medicines.
He added that the Punjab government was committed to expanding healthcare facilities and ensuring quality treatment for cardiac patients at their doorstep.
Chairman Punjab Chief Minister Advisory Committee for Cardiology Dr Farqad Alamgir and Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Prof Tayyaba Waseem also accompanied the minister during the visit.
