ISLAMABAD, Oct 9 (APP):An important meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Federal Secretary Zafar Hassan at the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council Secretariat regarding preparations for observing October 27 as Black Day under the Chairmanship of Ministry of Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON.
Representatives of various federal ministries, provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan attended the meeting.
All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leaders Altaf Ahmed Wani and Sheikh Abdul Matin also attended the meeting.
The objective of the meeting was to review the arrangements for observing Black Day on October 27 to express full solidarity with the oppressed people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), said a press release.
On this occasion, the Federal Secretary gave a detailed briefing to the participants and clarified that this year the Black Day will be celebrated in a more effective manner than in the past.
He said that human rights violations by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir and Ladakh have increased to an alarming extent.
Videos and reports circulating on social media testify that India is creating new stories of atrocities in the occupied areas. The Federal Secretary further said that the Government of Pakistan has taken important steps regarding Azad Kashmir which are commendable, and now it is time for the entire nation to demonstrate complete solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir.
It was decided in the meeting that seminars, rallies and other events will be organized across the country on the occasion of Black Day. On this day, a special campaign will also be launched to inform the international community about India’s atrocities.
It should be noted that every year on October 27, Black Day is observed across Pakistan to draw the attention of the world community to Indian aggression and human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
