RAWALPINDI, Oct 09 (APP):The state-of-the-art paddle tennis court built by the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi under the Sixth Road Flyover was inaugurated on Thursday to promote healthy and recreational activities among citizens.

The inaugural ceremony was aattended by special guest Member of the National Assembly Ms Tahira Aurangzeb, Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Hassan Waqar Cheema and PHA Director General Ahmed Hassan Ranjha. A large number of dignitaries and citizens were also present on the occasion.

The participants lauded the initiative, terming it an excellent step towards encouraging positive and healthy activities for the people.
According to a PHA spokesman, the modern paddle tennis court was constructed in a short span of time on the special instructions of PHA Director General Ahmed Hassan Ranjha. It features high-quality turf, a modern design, and a dedicated car parking area, while excellent lighting arrangements have also been made for night play.
The spokesman said the Authority was committed not only to enhancing the city’s beauty and greenery but also to promoting sports and providing recreational facilities for the youth.
He added that the PHA Rawalpindi had already organised cricket tournaments and was planning several other sports-related initiatives to promote healthy activities across the city.
The paddle tennis court project, he said, has been warmly welcomed by the public.
