ISLAMABAD, Oct 09 (APP):The funeral prayer of ASI Zulfiqar Ali of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police was offered with full official honour at the Police Lines Headquarters on Thursday.
An official told APP that Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Headquarters Muhammad Haroon Joya, senior officers, and a large number of police personnel attended and offered prayers for the departed soul, expressing solidarity with the bereaved family.
After the prayer, senior officers shouldered the coffin of the deceased officer while a police contingent presented a guard of honour as a mark of respect.
Later, the body of ASI Zulfiqar Ali was sent to his native town for burial with full official protocol.
DIG Haroon Joya said that ICT Police will continue to support the family of the late officer and ensure all possible assistance.
He added that the services of ASI Zulfiqar Ali would always be remembered with respect and pride.
The Islamabad Police reiterated its resolve to stand by the families of its serving and late personnel and to continue honouring their sacrifices for the safety of the citizens.
