RAWALPINDI, Oct 09 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested 11 members of an international trafficking group involved in smuggling heroin to the United Arab Emirates(UAE).
According to an ANF spokesman, receiving credible intelligence information that international drug trafficking networks were using operatives to lure poor and less-educated young couples from various cities across the country to serve as drug carriers for smuggling heroin to the UAE, four young couples linked to Nadeem Khan, gang, were arrested at two airports while attempting to travel abroad with heroin-filled capsules in their abdomens.
In line with modern investigative standards and using advanced technical methods, a total of 11 members of this international smuggling group, including the kingpin, a pharmacist, and four women, were arrested, successfully dismantling the network.
The identities of other absconding members connected to this network have also been established, and those will also be brought to justice soon.
Despite its limited manpower and resources, ANF stands firm in its resolve to prevent the smuggling of narcotics from Pakistan to the world in general, and to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states in particular, he added.
