KARACHI, Oct 09 (APP):In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) seized a significant quantity of narcotics during various intelligence-based operations conducted across different areas of Balochistan over the past month.
According to the spokesperson for the Pakistan Coast Guards, the operations resulted in the confiscation of approximately 140.65 kilograms of methamphetamine (commonly known as ice), 1,729.5 kilograms of hashish, 25.6 kilograms of cannabis, and 1.5 kilograms of opium.
The seized narcotics are estimated to be worth approximately $136.528 million in the international market. Legal proceedings have been initiated following the seizures.
The spokesperson emphasized that the Pakistan Coast Guards remain actively engaged in combating the smuggling of narcotics and other illegal goods. The PCG continues to play a vital role in safeguarding the nation’s economic stability and national security.
