ISLAMABAD, Oct 08 (APP):Acting Chairman Senate, Syedaal Khan on Wednesday met with a delegation led by M. Siddique Sheikh, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the US-Pakistan International Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The meeting focused on promoting trade activities and discussed various matters of mutual interest.
The Acting Chairman Senate welcomed the delegation and, while expressing his views, said that the efforts of chambers of commerce and industry, as well as institutions working at the international level to promote trade activities, are highly commendable for the business, industrial, and economic development of Pakistan.
He stated that Pakistan has emerged on the global stage in a new way, which will have a positive impact on local economic activities. This progress will not only generate more employment opportunities but also help attract global trade and investment to Pakistan.
The Acting Chairman further said that overseas Pakistanis are our ambassadors, and we highly value their contributions. He added that the global economy is changing rapidly — where new opportunities arise, challenges also exist — but through effective policies and strategies, these challenges can be turned into opportunities.
He highlighted that Pakistan offers vast opportunities for investment, and international investors are showing increasing interest in the country, which is a positive trend. During the discussion, Syedaal Khan mentioned that the government is striving to create an environment where doing business is easy, investments are secure, and exports continue to grow.
He said that the private sector is being encouraged, and efforts are underway to address their issues. The Acting Chairman also appreciated the role of the Pakistani business community based in the United States, noting that their contributions help Pakistan actively participate in global economic activities.
He conveyed best wishes to the delegation and expressed hope that such high-level delegations would continue to visit Pakistan in the future, strengthening cooperation and coordination with local industrial and commercial chambers.
On this occasion, the delegation leader M. Siddique Sheikh expressed his gratitude, saying he was delighted to visit Pakistan and that vast opportunities exist for investment in the country. He also extended an invitation to the Acting Chairman Senate to visit the United States.
Siddique Sheikh further said that the Pakistanis living in the US hold deep affection for their homeland and wish to play an active role in Pakistan’s economic development.
