PESHAWAR, Oct 08 (APP):Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has said that the spirit of humanity and sincerity is essential for the success of any institution, adding that the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has proved through its performance that it is truly committed to serving humanity.
He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held at the Governor’s House Peshawar on Wednesday to pay tribute to the PRCS staff and volunteers of the merged districts for their services in Bajaur.
The event was attended by Chairman PRCS merged districts Advocate Imran Wazir, Chairman PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Farzand Wazir, Secretary PRCS merged districts Saeed Kamal, PPP Provincial President Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha, political leaders Akhunzada Chattan and Maulana Haroon Rashid, tribal elders, staff, and volunteers.
During the ceremony, the Governor inaugurated three ambulances, solarization and WASH projects, and tube well rehabilitation schemes of PRCS merged districts. He also visited activity stalls set up at the Governor’s House.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Kundi lauded the PRCS merged districts for their ongoing humanitarian services, especially their efforts to reach out to people despite challenges such as road closures in Kurram district.
He said he was pleased to see that his directions had been implemented effectively and that the organization was moving forward with a renewed vision and commitment.
He also expressed gratitude to national and international donor organizations for their cooperation with PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in relief and rehabilitation activities during natural disasters.
Highlighting the significant role of PRCS volunteers after the recent devastating floods, the Governor assured them of his full support in all future endeavors.
At the end of the ceremony, Governor Kundi distributed appreciation certificates among volunteers and hygiene kits among Bajaur flood-affected families.
