Punjab Inspection Chief commends coordinated flood relief efforts in Muzaffargarh

MUZAFFARGARH, Oct 08 (APP): Chairman Chief Minister’s Inspection, Surveillance and Monitoring Directorate Brigadier (R) Babar Alauddin, Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military), visited Muzaffargarh to review ongoing flood relief and rehabilitation operations.
Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Usman Tahir Jappa and DPO Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah, he chaired a detailed meeting to assess the progress of rescue operations, relief measures, and rehabilitation activities in affected areas.
The deputy commissioner briefed that 188 villages, 460,636 people, and 430,436 acres of land were impacted by floods, while several schools and connecting roads suffered damage.
Rescue-1122, Health, Livestock, Police, Civil Defence, Education, Revenue, and Local Government departments actively participated in relief efforts.
A total of 31 flood relief camps were set up, with one still operational housing 94 people, while 779 individuals remain on flood embankments. Relief camps provided three daily meals, clean drinking water, medical care, livestock feed, and education facilities.
Brig (R) Babar Alauddin lauded the timely evacuation and coordinated response that minimized human and material losses. He emphasized the vital role of school councils
and community support in restoring educational institutions.
He added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, all departments were working as a united team, ensuring transparency in surveys conducted by Revenue, Agriculture, Livestock, Urban Unit, and Pakistan Army teams.
