LAHORE, Oct 08 (APP):Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique has expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for the handover of the new machinery, saying that the chief minister’s appreciation during the ceremony held at the Fortress Stadium
have won the hearts of the entire team of Suthra Punjab.
“The addition of the new machinery will significantly increase the efficiency”, he added.
He was addressing a meeting held at the Civil Secretariat in which Secretary Local Government Shakeel Ahmed Mian and Additional Secretary Ahmar Kaifi were also present, while CEOs of all waste management companies participated through video link.
Zeeshan Rafique said that while distributing the machinery, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz did not leave any district deprived. “Now, the minister observed, “no one will have to look to another district at the time of urban flooding”.
Zeeshan Rafique also noted that due to Suthra Punjab, the effective culture of cleanliness is strengthening with each passing day. “In less than a year, he went on, “8.555 million tons of waste were collected from across the province. The special aspect is that garbage is not picked up from one place and thrown to another, but safe dumping is done”.
He said that at present, a fleet of 28,927 machinery is engaged in serving the citizens across Punjab.
Sixty-eight thousand 858 containers and 3 lac 284 equipments are also part of the Clean Punjab.
