KOHAT, Oct 08 (APP):During an inspection at the city gate, the police arrested an inter-district smuggler of weapons along with a vehicle loaded with weapons.
The smuggler, identified as Bahram, belonged to Kurram district, the police spokesman said.
The weapons seized in the intelligence-based operation were skillfully
hidden in a pickup truck.
The successful operation was carried out by DSP City Hafiz-ur-Rehman, SHO City Fayyaz Khan and their police team.
Two heavy machine guns, 8 grenades, 29 repeaters and dozens of other items were recovered from the possession of the arrested smuggler, he added.
The seized weapons were being smuggled from Kurram to Peshawar.
A case had been registered against the accused and further investigation launched, the spokesman said.
