Anti dengue drive intensifies in Murree

RAWALPINDI, Oct 07 (APP):District Health Authority (DHA) Murree has ramped up its proactive measures to prevent and control dengue fever.
In a key inspection drive, Chief Executive Officer Health Dr. Azhar Mahmood Abbasi visited various areas of Angoori closely monitoring dengue-related activities. Dr Zulfiqar Sati, Deputy District Officer Health and other health officials were also with him during the visit. They assessed cleanliness conditions and team performance at multiple sites in Kotli Satian.
Similarly, the tehsil health inspector and dengue focal person conducted a thorough review of anti-dengue operations in Murree City and Masyari areas.
On the other hand, entomologists carried out field visits to their respective jurisdictions, including Charhan, Ban, Phagwari, Deol, Trit, Gahal, and Rawat. They evaluated the effectiveness of indoor and outdoor teams combating mosquito breeding.
According to the Health Department, all government agencies, including Rescue 1122, are fully engaged in the dengue prevention campaign. Indoor residual spraying (IRS) and fogging operations continue unabated across various localities.
Enforcement actions have also been taken including an FIR against violations of dengue standard operating procedures (SOPs), while two sites have been sealed.
The department’s latest report indicates one new dengue case reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Murree district to 115.
Deputy Commissioner Murree has urged citizens to extend full cooperation to the Health Department’s “Sehat Muhafiz” (dengue teams) and maintain cleanliness in their surroundings to curb mosquito proliferation. He emphasized the collective efforts for dengue eradication.
