KARACHI, Oct 07 (APP): Two more matches were decided in the PCB Talent Hunt Programme for School Cricket Championship (Karachi Region), played at various grounds across the city. The day’s highlights included outstanding bowling performances from medium pacers Abdul Raheem and Muhammad Nadeem, along with a fine batting display by Amanullah.
At Darul Uloom Korangi Ground, NJV Government Boys Higher Secondary School defeated The Cedar School by 37 runs. Batting first, NJV posted 190 for 9 in 40 overs, with Ameen Raza scoring 54, Ayaz Ali 26, and Abdul Mujeeb 25. For The Cedar School, Abdul Raheem was exceptional with the ball, claiming six wickets for 22 runs, while Abdullah Ahmed took 2 for 43.
In reply, The Cedar School were bowled out for 153 in 30 overs. Ahmed Shahzad scored 27 and Hassan Ali 26. Intizar Abbas (2/25), Asghar Ali (2/30), and Fayaz Muhammad (2/36) shared the wickets for NJV.
In another fixture at the IBA Ground, Mumtaz Government Boys Secondary School outclassed Major Ziauddin Abbasi Government Boys Secondary School by 134 runs. Batting first, Mumtaz School amassed 244 for 4 in 40 overs, with Amanullah top-scoring with 74 runs, including seven fours and a six. Shaikh M. Jarar contributed 51, Muhammad Zohair 29, and Muhammad Muzammil 24. Bilal Ahmed took 2 for 38.
In reply, Major Ziauddin Abbasi School were dismissed for 110 in 19.1 overs. Muhammad Hamdan scored 44, while Zeeshan Ahmed made 17. For the winning side, Muhammad Nadeem delivered a match-winning spell of 6 for 36, supported by Amanullah (2/12) and Muhammad Hamza (2/28).
