WASA Rawalpindi launches crackdown on illegal water connections

RAWALPINDI, Oct 06 (APP):Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Rawalpindi has launched a vigorous crackdown on illegal water connections as part of its efforts to curb water theft and ensure equal  distribution across the city.
On the special directives of Managing Director (MD) Muhammad Saleem Ashraf, enforcement teams have intensified operations in various localities, swiftly identifying and disconnecting unauthorized hookups that have long strained the agency’s resources.
In addition to the enforcement drive, WASA has also recognizing and rewarding employees for outstanding performance.
Raja Tahir Naqshbandi was presented with a certificate of appreciation by MD WASA Muhammad Saleem Ashraf in acknowledgment of his exceptional recovery performance.
Speaking on the occasion, MD Muhammad Saleem Ashraf said that officers and staff members showing exemplary performance will be awarded due to dedication.
He reaffirmed that WASA remains fully committed to eliminating illegal water connections from the city. “Strict legal action will be taken against all those found involved in water theft,” he warned, adding that no leniency will be shown in such cases.
